Job description

MTM Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. This role will be based in either our Slane or Armagh office, with occasional travel to our other offices.

The Role…

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for the production of Electrical tenders for both pre‑designed and design & construct projects along with estimating works.

MTM Engineering is a market leading specialist electrical contractor that provides medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) cable installation, termination services, busbar, and containment solutions for a wide range of construction projects. Headquartered in Ireland, we deliver mission critical projects for a range of customers across Europe and beyond. Our expertise spans industry sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, power generation, critical infrastructure, and more.

Responsibilities…

Management of estimating new projects from inception to submission.

Setting up estimates, tender packs and applicable trackers.

Communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers & clients.

Preparing take‑offs for LV/MV Cabling and Containment systems from drawings.

Inputting take‑offs and quotes to relevant estimate formats.

Produce bills of quantities, schedules of work and contractors' proposal documents to support bids.

Assist in the handing over to the operational delivery team.

Develop strong inter‑departmental relationships working closely with Contracts Managers, QS’s and Design/Engineering department.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.

High attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel.

Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non‑technical clients.

Qualifications in Mathematics & English (5+ GCSE or above) demonstrating a strong numerical skillset.

Experience as an estimator or an electrical background would be advantageous.
