Technical Product Marketer

Roadie
Dublin
EUR 60,000 - 80,000
Job description

We’re looking for a Technical Product Marketer to drive our growth and story.

You will lead the go-to-market strategy for new features, create successful positioning that drive product growth, and generate customer insights for product development. You’ll be the go-to person for market and competitive insights, and will impact product adoption of new and existing users.

You’ll have the opportunity to become a leading voice in the new and rapidly growing Internal Developer Portal market, and you’ll have the opportunity to become an influence in the open-source community surrounding the Backstage project from Spotify.

You will report directly to the CEO, and own…

  1. The production of high-quality marketing assets to drive inbound interest.
  2. The messaging which helps people understand the product, its value proposition and it’s differentiation from competitors.
  3. The creation of sales enablement resources needed to effectively sell and drive awareness across the field — including sales collateral, customer stories, and more

Here are some of the things you'll get to work on and learn about as part of this job:

Product positioning - Spend time with customers so that you can craft the best positioning for Roadie’s products. Know their business, jobs to be done, software development stack, and workflows. Empathize with the problems they experience and what motivates them. Then teach this to the rest of Roadie and use it to inform your positioning.

Content strategy and creation - Learn how Roadie customers adopt the platform, identify where content is needed to help them move faster, and then produce that content. Work with the rest of the company to maximize distribution of this content through appropriate channels and measure results.

Product - Launch products and features to market. Work with product, engineering and sales functions to develop a strategy, align the company on a plan, and then take the reins and manage the entire effort.

Sales enablement - Work with the sales function to develop and execute an enablement plan. Then build the pitch decks, product training, and customer-facing content that sales needs to educate our customers.

The Offer

  • You’ll get to embed yourself in the community of the most hyped CNCF open-source project of the past few years: Backstage.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing venture-backed start-up that is building a whole new market. Our customers are established scale-ups like Snyk, Contentful and Paddle and large enterprises like AstraZeneca.
  • We offer a competitive salary based on experience
  • We provide a meaningful stock options package
  • 40 days paid time off (including public holidays in your country)
  • Fully remote position with flexible working arrangements
  • Individual work tools – Macbook Pro, Dell screen, JBL headphones? You can tailor the equipment to your needs.
  • Mental well-being program – individual therapy sessions and resources for employees.
  • A paid Spotify subscription for your family.
  • Travel may be required at least once a year to meet the team.

The Hiring Process

  1. Application and screening call. Let’s get to know each other a little.
  2. Take home project. Make a super short video about a Backstage plugin of your choice.
  3. Capabilities interview. Let’s talk about tech, marketing and product.
  4. Culture Add interview.
  5. Decision & offer.

The Company

Roadie is improving developer effectiveness in engineering organizations across the globe. By helping companies adopt an Internal Developer Portal based on Backstage, the open-source developer portal and service catalog developed at Spotify, we are making developers' lives easier and more productive.

We are a small company of 14 people and we believe we’re at an inflection point where we can build a huge company if we make the correct choices now. The work you do will directly impact that forward progress.

We are a fully remote, seed stage startup, backed by some of the best investors in the DevTools ecosystem. From developer first VC firms like Boldstart, to individual angels like Guy Podjarny - the founder of developer focussed security company Snyk, and Adam Gross, the ex-CEO of Heroku.

Though our company is young and has grown quickly, we have maintained a tight-knit culture and way of working even though we’re spread across 6 different European countries, and the US.

We aim to create a company culture where individual employees are empowered and trusted to do their best work.

  • You're a natural storyteller and an excellent communicator who easily explains complex technical concepts with examples, analogies, and stories.
