Commercial Estimator – Landscaping

Location: Ballyclare, covering contracts across Northern Ireland

Salary: £42,500 - £47,500 DOE + Car Allowance

Working Pattern: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Contract: Permanent

About the role:

We are seeking a Commercial Estimator to join our busy team in Ballyclare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for soft landscaping projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications, budget constraints, and company objectives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail‑oriented professional with a passion for soft landscaping to contribute to exciting projects and grow within a dynamic organisation.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications for soft landscaping works.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, plant, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and potential risks.
  • Evaluate project commercial viability and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director, Contracts Managers, and Design Teams.
  • Attend pre‑tender and post‑tender meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Support the handover process of successful tenders to the delivery team.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenders and prepare reports for senior management.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in estimating landscaping projects, including commercial, public realm, or residential works.
  • Basic understanding of horticulture, turfing, and soil preparation.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Excel).
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management or related field
  • Willingness to travel to North of England occasionally
