Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Account Handler within our Corporate Operations Team. In this role, you will service a commercial portfolio of customers & provide end-to-end servicing to a panel of Corporate customers. This role will be pivotal to retaining profitable existing business and generating new business where possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing servicing to existing clients and closely manage the relationships throughout the renewal cycle to ensure retention of the account – outside of this strategically communicate with customers as required.
  • Analyse customer needs and cover and identify any opportunities to strengthen their risk management structures.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for the Sales team where possible.
  • Market and present customer accounts to insurers and negotiate premiums in turn on their behalf.
  • Collect and submit any additional information required by underwriters and follow up to ensure placement of the risk.
  • Input all information correctly onto Applied Relay and ensure clear and concise file notes.
  • Monitor and review business figures (new business, renewals, fees & commission, margins etc) and ensure collection of monies due on the account.
  • Attend customer meetings with the Sales team on prospects and provide subject matter expert support as required.
  • Lead and participate in business projects as they arise.
  • Stay abreast of insurer appetites and competitor activity in the marketplace and react accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, Central Bank codes, and Brown & Brown Ireland procedures and business ethics.
Desired Skills and Attributes
  • 5+ years’ experience working in commercial broking OR relevant insurance experience.
  • Good knowledge of commercial insurances product ranges across the various markets for the following:
  • Property and Business Interruption
  • Employer’s Public & Products Liability
  • Motor Fleet/Motor Trade
  • Professional Indemnity
  • Management Liability (Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practice Liability)
  • Cyber Liability InsuranceMarine/Cargo
  • Customer knowledge and understanding of their business and industry sectors
  • Proven track record in customer account management and retention
  • Clear and comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and legal environment.
