Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health)

2 x Full Time Posts, 37.5 hours per week

One post is based in Letterkenny town, covering the Donegal region. One post is based in Sligo town covering counties Sligo and Leitrim.

Salary: Commensurate with Experience as per HSE pay scales

Role

To work as part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering a high-quality Housing First service in the Northwest of Ireland. Housing First is a model of housing that provides housing with wrap around supports to those who are long-term homeless and who have a history of complex trauma and rough sleeping. The service provides support through intensive case management with multi-disciplinary specialisms to provide support to tenants in their own homes. The teams are guided by the ethos and principles of Housing First, to collaboratively provide person centred support to individuals living in their own homes. The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health posts will be new and additional specialist roles which will compliment teams well established in the ethos of the Housing First lead approach to homelessness. The Clinical Nurse Specialists in Mental Health will use their experience and expertise to guide and support the team and service users. While also building and maintaining links within the community with Mental Health services and liaising with relevant services to support the integration of services users within the community.

Location

Northwest Housing First is delivered across the region of the Northwest of Ireland, covering Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. There are two locations on offer with this post.

Offices are based in Sligo town and Letterkenny town. A post based in Sligo town will cover counties Sligo and Leitrim. A post based in Letterkenny town with cover county Donegal.

Preferred location: stated upon application.

The service is currently provided Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, with the intention of extending to Saturdays in the future. Saturdays will be worked on a staff rotational basis.

Successful applicants will
  • Be a registered nurse in the Psychiatric Division on the active Register of Nurses.
  • Hold a relevant (level 8) post-graduate qualification in Mental Health.
  • Have five years post-qualification experience.
  • Have two years post-qualification experience in Mental Health Specialist Care.
  • Access to own car and a full driving licence.
