Production Equipment Europe is a leading industrial distributor supplying over 90,000 products to customers nationwide.

We are looking for an individual to join our purchasing team to manage procurement, material requirements planning, product life cycle & obsolescence. Build supplier relationships and understands warehouse space utilization. Familiar with latest supply chain processes and willing to engage in a fast moving and professionally rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing and managing purchase orders on a daily basis
  • Developing and maintaining long relationships with vendors
  • Reviewing minimum stock holdings against average sales analysis
  • Ensuring continuous supply and optimum levels of inventory
  • Managing and reducing excess inventory levels in order to help improve warehouse space utilization
  • Working to agreed time scales and deadlines
  • Working with the TL on the onboarding and training of all new hires in relevant processes where directed by the TL.
  • Participation in cost reduction activities
  • Delivering both high quality and cost-effective solutions
  • Managing vendor performance and ensuring alignment with inhouse quality systems
  • Departmental administration duties
  • Analyse and resolve purchasing issues and discrepancies
Skills & Experience
  • 3 years plus planning / procurement experience
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or related area is preferable
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good computer skills (MS Office), SAP or other ERP system experience highly desirable
  • Flexible and pro-active attitude with a desire for excellence
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
