Abbott Vascular Clonmel is the largest Abbott Manufacturing facility in Ireland focusing on both manufacturing and research and development of next generation vascular products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and developautomation systemsand processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, andresource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed automation solutions.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning ofautomation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance ofautomation systems.
  • Preparetechnical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance procedures, and project reports.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience inautomation engineering, with a proven track record of successful automation projects in the medical device industry
  • Strong knowledge ofautomation systems,PLC programming, HMI development, andSCADAsystems.
  • Proficiency inCAD softwareand other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management certification (e.g.,PMP) is a plus.
