Position Summary

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to step into a broad and engaging position supporting our busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of the AP function in a growing international engineering organisation. You will join a collaborative finance team where development, support, and progression are encouraged.

This role is offered as a full‑time staff position, based out of our Cork office, with an excellent salary and benefits package. However, we will also consider a part‑time role for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities
Core Accounts Payable Duties
  • Process supplier invoices, matching to POs and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs and ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and maintain an accurate creditor ledger.
  • Manage supplier communications, queries, and outstanding issues.
Finance Support
  • Assist with month‑end close activities including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Complete periodic VAT returns and support audit requirements.
General Admin & Team Support
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support office and finance admin tasks as required.
Required Experience & Skills
  • 3+ years' experience as an accounts assistant, administrative assistant, or similar role.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong technical background.
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Desired
  • Experience using Sage50, or similar accounts package is desirable as full training will be provided.
  • Experience of the full end‑to‑end accounts payable process is desirable as full training will be provided.
  • Accounting technician or similar qualification would be desirable.
