This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Accounts Assistant to support a busy finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role focuses on managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions. It also includes supporting the broader finance and purchasing teams with ad hoc tasks.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Trade Creditors Ledger and input all purchase invoices
  • Match purchase orders to supplier invoices, resolving any discrepancies
  • Adhere to invoice and credit note authorisation processes
  • Prepare and execute weekly/monthly payment runs and issue remittances
  • Reconcile supplier statements and handle creditor queries
  • Maintain the cash book and process daily bank transactions and direct debits
  • Reconcile bank accounts across multiple currencies (EUR/USD/GBP)
  • Process and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring correct VAT treatment
  • Handle petty cash reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of accruals and statutory returns (VAT, VIES, Intrastat)
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Maintain accurate filing and data records
  • Produce regular reports including purchase/sales ledgers and key performance indicators
  • Support internal and external audit and compliance queries
