Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is currently looking for an Accounting Technician for a manufacturing company in Portadown, Ireland. The role involves supporting department activities, managing accounts receivable and payable, and preparing financial statements for audits. Ideal candidates will be fully qualified with IATI, ATT, or part qualified ACCA/CIMA and have at least 2 years of experience in an accounts office. This position is essential for maintaining financial processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience of working in a busy Accounts office environment.
  • Experience using a recognised computerised accounts and payroll system.
  • Previously worked in Manufacturing would be desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with processing AR and AP invoices.
  • Payments and Treasury tasks.
  • Preparation of Monthly and Year-end Accounts.

Skills

Computer Literate
High level of skill in spreadsheets
Ability to manage own work plan

Job description

Nixon McQuade are currently recruiting for an Accounting Technician on behalf of a leading manufacturing company based in Portadown.

Reporting to the Company Accountant, you will be responsible for providing all round support to the department activities.

The Role:
  • Assisting with processing AR and AP invoices
  • Payments and Treasury
  • Preparation of Monthly and Year-end Accounts;
  • Assist the Accountant in preparing the Year-end audit file
  • Deal with external Auditors
  • Assisting with Credit Control
  • Assisting with Payroll;
  • Process all VAT, statutory and other government returns
  • Maintenance and development of internal control systems
  • Preparation of all grant claims
The Person:
  • Fully qualified IATI, ATT, or Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA
  • 2 years experience of working in a busy Accounts office environment
  • Experience of using a recognised computerised accounts and payroll system
  • Computer Literate
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill in the use of spreadsheets
  • Ability to manage own work plan and meet pre agreed deadlines
  • Previously worked in Manufacturing would be desirable
