A global financial institution in Limerick is seeking a qualified accountant for a mid-senior level role in the Functional Control Team. The successful candidate will manage accounting processes, perform reconciliations, and collaborate with finance teams. This is a permanent role within the Functional Control Team in Finance. The team supports expanding and increasingly complex business requirements. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Functional Control in Limerick.
The role will involve completing functional control processes to support global entities, focusing on Europe with some involvement in North America and Asia Pacific. The team is responsible for the accounting and finance oversight of source systems, including processing journals, reconciliations, analysis and other controls. The role includes ensuring bank activities are accurately recorded in the general ledger, owning significant parts of the balance sheet and income statement, and contributing to design and testing of new products and systems in collaboration with London and Chicago teams.
The successful candidate will work with various operations and finance teams to ensure books reflect business activity, adhering to accounting policy requirements, US GAAP and IFRS for relevant entities.
