Position: 3.1 Weld Inspector

Location: Limerick, Ireland.

Employment: PAYE

Key Responsibilities

Carry out visual inspection of welds in accordance with CSWIP 3.1 certification standards.

Verify compliance of welding activities with project specifications, drawings, codes, and industry standards.

Monitor welding processes to ensure correct procedures, consumables, and qualifications are being followed.

Review and validate welding documentation including Welder Qualification Records (WQRs), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs).

Conduct dimensional checks and fit‑up inspections prior to welding.

Identify and record non‑conformances, raise NCRs, and verify corrective actions.

Liaise with welding supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to ensure adherence to project quality requirements.

Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.

Support continuous improvement in welding quality and best practices.

Promote and enforce health, safety, and quality standards on‑site.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years experience in welding inspection within mechanical, construction, or industrial projects.

Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (EN, ASME, AWS, or equivalent).

Familiarity with various welding processes (TIG, MMA, MIG/MAG, orbital welding, etc.).

Safe Pass and relevant site safety certifications.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non‑conformances.

Strong communication and reporting skills to liaise with site teams and clients.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld maps, and specifications.

Proficient in preparing inspection reports and using digital QA/QC tools.
