Job description

The role is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing and executing the firm's reward strategy.
  • Ensures that reward practices are compliant with the relevant regulatory recommendations and requirements.
  • Manages Compensation/payroll/Benefit's administration function staff budget and planning.
  • Manages the key areas of rewards, benefits and pensions and liaises with third parties to develop a consistent best practice approach.
  • Formulates policy initiatives and partners with HR and/or directly with the Business, CES and other external Consultants to implement and deliver projects.
  • Assists with managing Citi’s Health Care programs including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Trip/Transit, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Retiree Medical Programs
  • Handles and resolves escalated individual participant issues.
  • Contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business.
  • Handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
  • Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business.
  • Performs training on Citi’s benefits for HR colleagues and employees.
  • Primary focus of role is on day-to-day operational execution, with occasional contribution to broader planning within area of expertise.
  • Works with Compensation Manager to ensure consistent compensation policies and practices are applied across all employees.
  • Applies technical expertise in Compensation principles, practices and procedures in the completion of assignments
  • Manage market data process including surveys, individual benchmarking, and presentation of results to Senior Managers
  • Conduct benchmarking, market, and internal equity analysis
  • Project management and program execution for new compensation policies and pay management across the business
  • Coordination of annual compensation process for salary review and incentive awards
  • Partner with regional colleagues to ensure global consistency
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines while dealing with multiple priorities.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant employment regulation within total reward

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
