Job summary

A regional IT services provider is seeking a Help Desk Support Technician for on-site support in Tsuen Wan. The candidate will be responsible for help desk services, technical support, and monitoring network health. Requirements include at least one year of experience in UNIX and Windows systems as well as good communication skills in English and Chinese. The position will require working shifts, including public holidays.

Qualifications

• At least one (1) year of post-qualification experience in operating a data centre.
• Hands-on experience in UNIX and Windows platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide help desk services and escalate problems.
• Monitor network/system health and provide on-site technical support.
• Conduct routine system health checks and produce performance reports.

• Responsible for providing help desk services; handling and escalating problems;
• Real time monitoring network/system healthiness;
• Providing on-site technical support; printing and distributing user reports;
• Conducting routine system health check; producing performance reports;
• Executing backup arrangement and supporting operation.

Job Requirements

• At least one (1) year of post-qualification computer operation experience in operating a data centre with systems supporting at least 200 concurrent users based on UNIX (Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX, etc.) and Windows platforms in a high-availability and cluster environment;
• At least one (1) year post-qualification operation experience on government IT systems;
• Preferred Hands-on experience in Unix (Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX, etc), Windows;
• Familiar with WebLogic and UNIX would be an advantage;
• Good computer knowledge, communication skills and telephone manner;
• Good command of English and Chinese.
• Willing to work on public holidays & 7x24 roster; and
• Work location: Tsuen Wan; shift is required.
