We are currently hiring a motivated Weekend Junior Model Maker responsible for the production of wind tunnel models and associated test parts. The role also involves supporting the Aero department with logistics and driving duties as required.

Model Making

• Produce wind tunnel models and test parts for testing in the wind tunnel under the guidance of Aerodynamicists.
• Assist in preparing 3D-printed parts and organizing tests.
• Collaborate with Model Shop Group Leaders, Modelmakers, Designers, and Aerodynamicists to develop models and parts for testing.
• Perform daily tasks supporting model shop activities and wind tunnel operations.

Logistics Support

• Deliver components and projects to the off-site Wind Tunnel Facility in Bedford.
• Support the Production & Logistics team with logistics and driving duties as needed.

Flexibility and Professionalism

• Maintain flexible attendance and attitude, including evening and weekend shifts on a rota basis, to meet aero testing needs.
• Communicate effectively within the Aero department.
• Manage time efficiently according to departmental requirements.
• Be a strong team player, fostering good relationships across departments such as model shop, additive manufacturing, model design, mechanical design, and aerodynamics.
• Always work professionally, proactively promoting a positive image for the department, team, and sponsors.
