A leading charity in the UK film and TV industry is seeking a Trustee to join their Board. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mental wellbeing interventions and charity governance, contributing to the charity's mission of supporting industry professionals. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic sector.
For just over a century, the Film & TV Charity has supported those working behind the scenes in the UK’s film, TV, and cinema industry when things are tough. Their confidential and impartial support helps professionals across the industry, from production assistants to studio execs. They’ve developed a unique portfolio of services, tailored for those working in the screen sector.
Whether they’re providing practical help to lift people out of immediate need, or advice to head off problems before they arise, the charity’s aim is to ensure that people feel able to remain and thrive in the industry, regardless of their circumstances and background. At the most recent count, they’re providing support to over 200,000 people, with a focus on mental and physical health, financial wellbeing, and equity and inclusion.
Upcoming retirements have created an exciting opportunity to join their effective and high-performing Board. They would like to appoint a Trustee with a comprehensive grasp of mental wellbeing interventions in the employment context, particularly with freelance and creative professionals. Additional knowledge of adult safeguarding best practice would be a distinct advantage.
Candidates will bring specialist knowledge, great networks and ideally a working understanding of charity governance and the role of a trustee. Strong commercial, policy or administrative experience would be an asset, as would a track record of developing income streams. Film & TV Charity are deeply committed to diversity of all kinds – particularly ethnicity, disability, age and socio-economic class – on their board, so if this opportunity catches your eye, please do consider discussing it with us.
