Job Summary

As the Specialty Administrator within the HHFT Orthopaedic Service, you will strive for excellence in supporting patients through their care pathway. The role will flex depend on the needs of the service, providing a balance of general administration, reception and other duties commensurate with the banding of the post, ensuring a high quality patient pathway experience in line with NHS Constitutional Standards.

Main Duties
  • Manage the booking of appointments and admissions in line with mandatory patient waiting time targets and coordinator instructions.
  • Receive internal and external telephone enquiries courteously and efficiently, keeping accurate records and taking appropriate action regarding appointments, admissions and meetings, ensuring timely delivery under Netcall Trust KPI requirements.
  • Work with the RTT timescales to ensure patients receive treatment in a timely manner, supporting delivery of 18‑week compliance and striving for no patients waiting over 52 weeks.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day waiting list entries, escalating issues or problems to the appropriate personnel or team.
  • Arrange hospital transport, interpreters and other necessary patient assistance in accordance with Trust Policy to meet individual patient needs.
  • Receive and resolve patient queries, written or verbal, escalating within agreed protocols as required.

  • Good standard of basic education with GCSE English Language or comparable relevant work experience
