Job description

Science, Mathematics, and/or STEM Teacher (11-16)

Wotton House International School is seeking a passionate and innovative Science, Mathematics, and/or STEM Teacher to inspire and engage students aged 11-16. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and deliver exciting, hands-on learning experiences in their chosen subject areas, which may include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or STEM-related disciplines such as robotics, coding, and engineering. Applicants are not required to teach all subjects. In addition to shaping a forward-thinking curriculum, the successful applicant may be expected to contribute to the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and/or IGCSE STEM courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver active, engaging lessons in Science, Mathematics, or STEM to students aged 11-16.
  2. Teach in a variety of stimulating environments, including the school farm and outdoor learning spaces.
  3. Foster a love for scientific inquiry, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving in young learners.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate STEM and mathematical principles across the wider curriculum.
  5. Encourage student participation in science and maths projects, clubs, and external competitions.

  1. Holding or willing to work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. A proactive and creative individual with a clear vision for student-centred, inquiry-based learning.
