Qualifications

  • Experience in joinery and general maintenance, ideally in a safety-critical environment.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Location:Regional role covering our homes between Morpeth and Bishop Auckland
Salary:£30,000.00 – £35,000.00/year based on experience.
Hours:37.5 Per Week

Your Role

As aRegional Joiner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant, and welcoming. From completing fire risk assessments to carrying out essential carpentry and maintenance tasks, this role is ideal for a qualified tradesperson who takes pride in creating secure and homely environments for residents, families, and staff.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Completing and documenting fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
  • Carrying out fire door inspections, repairs, and adjustments to maintain safety standards.
  • Undertaking joinery works including fitting doors, frames, locks, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests from care home managers, prioritising urgent safety‑related issues.
  • Supporting external contractors when on site and ensuring works meet compliance standards.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and documentation in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Travelling regularly across the assigned region with flexibility to support different care homes as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Recognised joinery/carpentry qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in joinery and general maintenance, ideally within a safety‑critical environment.
  • Experience in fire risk assessments and knowledge of fire safety regulations
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with care home staff and residents.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organisational, and time‑management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the region.
