Job summary

A civil engineering firm in Birmingham is seeking an Associate Engineer for its Rail team. This role involves providing technical leadership, managing projects, and developing team skills. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in the rail sector, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, and a Chartered status as CEng MICE preferred. Qualifications

  • 15 years’ experience in delivering projects in the rail environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of Network Rail standards.
  • Demonstrable experience in performing the roles of technical lead, design lead and check lead.
  • 5 years’ team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in other standards (DMRB, Eurocodes etc.) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on projects and support the wider rail team.
  • Line management responsibility for a team in the future.
  • Project focus as overall technical lead or design lead as required.
  • Ensure services are delivered on time, on budget and to quality.
  • Business development and support in preparation of bids.
