Job Summary

The mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs machines then tests them to make sure they are working correctly.
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
  • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
  • Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts.
  • Using machinery or equipment such as forklifts to move mechanical parts.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications

Preferred: Five (5) years mechanical maintenance.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements
  • Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders.
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
