A personal support service provider in Hailsham is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide energetic and positive support to an individual with unique needs. Ideal candidates should be youthful, empathetic, and able to engage actively in various activities that enhance the client's cognitive and social skills. Responsibilities include supervision, managing safety during activities, and supporting health needs. The role offers £15 per hour for 20 hours a week, with essential considerations for the candidate's experience in dynamic risk management and interpersonal skills.
20 hours per week, days/times to be discussed.
The client is a 34‑year‑old male, university graduate, intelligent and physically very fit. He is independent with personal care and enjoys long walks, often comfortably walking several miles. Following an iatrogenic brain injury in 2017 he experiences difficulties with short‑term memory and complex executive functioning, a compulsion to walk, and occasional phonic tics. The severity of symptoms fluctuates and is closely linked to stress levels and diet (he avoids sugar and caffeine). He remains fully capable of following instructions, engaging in card and video games, and participating in structured activities. His interests include music (particularly rap), dogs, snooker, archery, quad biking, and music festivals. He benefits greatly from positive social interaction with people close to his own age.
We are looking for one or more Personal Assistant support workers in Hailsham who can bring energy, positivity, and enthusiasm to spending time with him. Ideal candidates are youthful, naturally positive, empathetic, and energetic. Experience managing dynamic risk situations and a willingness to provide active, not passive, support are essential.
