Job description

We’re on the lookout for a brilliant Marketing & Operations Manager who loves variety, isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, and gets a buzz from turning big ideas into beautifully executed reality. If you’re someone who can switch effortlessly between strategic thinking and hands‑on doing, who enjoys leading a team with warmth and clarity, and who’s happiest when communications, problem‑solving and people skills all collide — you’ll fit right in. You’ll shape how SCCO shows up in the world, keep our operations running smoothly, collaborate with fantastic colleagues, and bring our courses and events to life with skill and heart. If you’re ready for a role that’s meaningful, lively and full of impact… we’d love to meet you.

This role is a rich blend of:
  • Strategic marketing and communications leadership
  • Driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Leading, supporting and developing a committed team
  • Bringing high‑quality courses and events to life

You’ll work closely with Trustees, faculty and external partners, building strong, trusted relationships and turning big‑picture strategy into practical, well‑run delivery. This isn’t a role that sits at a distance — it’s for someone who enjoys being involved, making things happen, and leading with clarity, warmth and purpose.

If you’re energised by responsibility, enjoy shaping direction while staying close to delivery, and want to work in an organisation that values people, quality and commitment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:
Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and deliver the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy
  • Lead campaigns that drive awareness, engagement and growth
  • Oversee internal communications and brand consistency
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers
  • Analyse performance and drive continuous improvement
Operations & Service Delivery
  • Develop and implement the Annual Operational Plan
  • Oversee administration and delivery of UK and international courses
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and policy requirements
  • Lead continuous service improvement and operational efficiency
People & Financial Management
  • Line‑manage the office team and support professional development
  • Oversee budgets, financial reporting and cost controls
  • Provide assurance to Trustees on governance and performance
About you:
  • Recognised marketing qualification
  • Proven experience in senior marketing, communications or operational leadership
  • Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confident balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery
