This post is based across Imperial College Healthcare Trust. The postholder will have expertise in all forms of echo imaging including lab based structural echo imaging. A key role of this post will be to leverage Consultant-led care to support the current infectious endocarditis service but the appointee will have the opportunity to take on a service development role and lead on (or contribute to) a number of areas. There is ample opportunity for an interested applicant to lead and develop other relevant imaging/valve disease areas depending on particular interest.
In addition, there is opportunity to continue a subspeciality interest in valve disease or heart failure.
This is a locum consultant post for 12 months.
The postholder will undertake a number of patient-facing activities, including specialist echo imaging, general cardiology, and specialist valve clinics. They will help to support the current IE lead in delivering regular IE ward rounds and a weekly MDT. There will be an expectation to help create and deliver service development work and time for this is allocated in the job plan. There are yearly quota of cardiology on call for ward cover.
