About our client
Our client, a high performing specialist investment firm, is currently looking to hire a commercial Legal Counsel to join their London team. The firm invests through multiple strategies across the global market and has consistently performed at a high level over the past few years, and is now looking to expand their legal team.

As the Legal Counsel, the responsibilities of your position will be varied, covering a range of corporate, commercial, and general in-house matters with a crossover on the transactional and M&A side. The legal team is small, allowing plenty of autonomy and growth while working closely with the whole business.

What the job involves

1. Ensuring contracts are managed and executed efficiently
2. Maintenance and management of non-investment precedents and templates
3. Management of ongoing corporate legal projects
4. Maintaining and advising on group policies
5. General in-house legal management including employment and people matters
6. Corporate secretarial duties including board participation
7. Supporting on any changes to corporate or organizational structure and disputes
8. Supporting on broader M&A activity
9. Advising portfolio companies on a broad range of legal matters

Who we are looking for

1. Qualified commercial Lawyer with experience gained in private practice or a similar in-house environment
2. Proven experience in commercial contracts both drafting and negotiation
3. Experience and knowledge within private equity or venture capital would be advantageous
4. Can-do attitude with a creative mindset
