Shift Pattern - 4 days on, 4 days off, days and nights, 18 days off every set of 7. 38 hours per week.
Competitive salary £48k - £56k (Based on competency pay grade)

Working as an Integrated Shift Engineer, you will deliver a safe, proactive and professional electrical/mechanical service to all departments across the site, primarily manufacturing. This will include providing diagnostic skills, initiating improvements, and undertaking preventative maintenance tasks to ensure an efficient and reliable production process.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in the development of the TPM process to cover all equipment across the site, including leading in defining and standardising all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP).
- Participate in a proactive role in equipment reliability plans that reduce the number of failures and minimise the effects of failures that do occur.
- Participate and lead in RCA methodologies such as 8D, 7-Step Chronic Problem Solving, EWOs, 5why and 5G.
- Support the cost deployment process through cost-effective project participation.
- Support with area improvement projects contributing to the improvements of Production related Assets.
- Carrying out routine daily PPM inspections and managing any potential threats.
- Ensure all reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner e.g. shift reports, use of CMMS system and updating department 'InfoHub' boards to display accurate and detailed information.
- Self-development and upskill through our competency-based grading system.
- Support with Capex projects contributing to the improvements of Production related Assets.
- To effectively communicate all relevant information and develop strong working relationships with all team members using a variety of platforms, e.g. Microsoft Teams.
- Operate a dual role system of working ensuring that first line response to all plant breakdown is maintained to a world-class standard at all times.
What you’ll bring:
At Etex, we are looking for dedicated, communicative and innovative people to join our team. In return, we’ll develop your engineering skills further, to ensure you are truly multiskilled (mechanical, electrical, and PLC software combined). There will be time factored into your pattern of work to support your training, using our in-house test kits as well as accredited external providers. In this position you will also require:
- NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline or experience within a reliability and maintenance time served apprenticeship.
- Electrical and Mechanical Work Experience.
- PLC knowledge, Siemens S7 preferable.
- High level knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance and proactive applications.
- Portable Appliance Testing skill would be advantageous.
- Ability to diagnose to root cause.
- Awareness to identify solutions and action accordingly.
- Strong work ethic with a high commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to prioritise, analyse problems quickly and diligently, whilst maintaining positive working relationships with internal customers and the plant management team.
- Experience with fault finding in Control Panels, Electric Control gear and systems, HMI’s etc.
- Ability to fault find mechanical and pneumatic machinery.
- Experience in conveyor, powder transfer, and liquid batching and systems.
