Overview

Join to apply for the Graduate Business Engineer role at VINCI in the Camberley Office, United Kingdom.

The successful candidate would be accountable for securing work through the submission of high-quality ground improvement solutions and supporting the delivery of the projects during construction.

Responsibilities
  • Actively involved and / or lead the bid process to ensure that tender deliverables are produced in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist senior engineer in reviewing tender documents (drawings, specifications, site investigation, etc) and submission requirements, ensuring we evaluate all relevant information in the bid process.
  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary ground improvement designs and design documents during the pre-construction phase, involving the analysis of civil & structural information.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, suppliers, etc).
  • Assisting in providing considered responses to project stakeholders, including post tender queries.
  • Assist in developing innovative solutions and identifying possible project risks. Ensure the correct methods, outputs and plant/resources are selected to deliver the solution, assisting the senior engineer to verify that project risks are adequately addressed.
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of tender price schedules in accordance with the pricing strategy and risk assessments. Ensure that cost plans are accurate and reflect the project requirements and risk profile.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of commercial pipeline through CRM (Salesforce). Support and participate in the handover of bid documentation and strategy to project operation and commercial teams.
  • Assist in managing customer contact, present tender proposals to customers and contribute to customer meetings during the tender process.
  • Ensure compliance with business strategy and authority levels. Support the delivery teams, providing review of pre-construction & technical information, including visits to site and meetings with customers.
  • Continued learning and development of personal expertise of ground engineering, both technically and in using the latest technologies and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of our marketing material including brochures, websites and data sheets.
  • Organise and attend corporate events.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on safety – WORKSAFE HOMESAFE & high environmental standards (LESS IS MORE MENARD).
Qualifications

A degree in a relevant subject.

The role requires experience and technical/engineering knowledge of ground engineering processes.

The individual should be customer centric and flexible in approach, with the strategic and creative insight to understand the range of opportunities in invitations to tender and be willing to challenge the norm.

The individual will be both focused and thorough and have the gravitas and professional credibility to advise senior management when something needs immediate redress together with the tenacity and drive to ensure that the necessary action is taken.

The individual can expect as part of their training to spend a portion of their time on-site assisting in the delivery and coordination of on-going projects. It’s fundamental to Menard that all engineers be provided with the skills and experience in both technical and operational delivery.

The individual should have a desire to continuously pursue innovation and development, with a focus on the customer and the ground engineering business.

Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are necessary. Knowledge of AutoCAD would be advantageous.

Full UK Driving Licence is required.
