The Andrew Simpson Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the successful operation of three key delivery locations in Portsmouth: The Andrew Simpson Centre-Portsmouth, Andrew Simpson Yachting, and Sail Training Trust-Portsmouth.

This leadership role involves managing senior teams at each facility while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, continuous growth, and the highest standards of safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will work in alignment with Andrew Simpson Foundation values and will play a crucial role in achieving strategic goals, driving operational excellence, and delivering high-quality services across the region.

Responsibilities

  1. Operational Oversight & Performance Management: Ensure Centres meet KPIs by maintaining quality, safety, compliance, and evolving product offerings based on customer needs and industry standards.
  2. Team Management: Lead, develop, and support Senior Teams while fostering a positive, aligned, and high-performing workplace culture.
  3. Financial Management: Manage budgets, control expenditures, and implement strategies to meet income targets and address financial challenges.
  4. Facilities & Asset Management: Oversee maintenance, inspection, and upgrades of equipment and facilities to ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
  5. Growth & Development: Identify improvement opportunities, launch new activities, and develop partnerships to drive engagement and growth.
  6. Stakeholder Management & Community Engagement: Represent the organization, build networks, engage stakeholders, and promote social impact initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Operations Management, ideally within the sports, leisure, or hospitality sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams, sometimes remotely, and work in a multi-site environment.
  • Excellent financial management skills with experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills with experience in negotiation.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
