The Opportunity
In this home-based role as a Development Underwriter, you will take the lead in driving new business growth and managing broker relationships across London and the Home Counties. You'll play a key role in underwriting complex Professional and Management risks, including Technology, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers to achieve growth and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with brokers in the region, becoming a trusted partner.
• Underwrite complex new business risks within defined authority, ensuring compliance and profitability.
• Manage and grow a pipeline of opportunities, driving new business development.
• Identify and establish new broker relationships, showcasing the organisation's capabilities.
• Monitor and report on broker activity and performance, contributing to strategic planning.
• Maintain up-to-date broker data through the CRM system and ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering a collaborative culture.

What They Are Looking For

• Proven experience in underwriting, particularly in Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers insurance.
• A successful track record in building and maintaining broker relationships.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented approach.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to drive growth and exceed targets.
• Competency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
