Summary of functions

To ensure that all product conforms to customer drawings and specifications. Perform Inspection using multiple measurement devices ranging from handheld equipment (Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Plug & Thread gauges) to Shadowgraphs, Height Gauges, Trimos, CMMs, Faro Arms, Hommel, Profilometer, Surface Testers, Equator System, Keyence etc. Complete First Article Reports to the AS9102 standard. Assess and decipher SPC/ Process Capability data and react accordingly. Work to Inspection Control Plans.

This role will include

1. Carry out First Offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards and Final Inspection to customer drawings and specifications.
2. Prepare and carry out FAIR’s to AS9102.
3. Work towards & Support all Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with AS9100 as well as all required company, customer and regulatory rulings and processes.
4. Roving inspection.
5. Support company Red Table/RCCA activities.
6. Vital/Flight Safety Part release.
7. Population and Release of Vital Part Packs.
8. Keep the workspace clean and organised. Clean and maintain the work area and equipment including tools.
9. Ensure correct authorisations (training and skills) are in place and applied to carry out the role under the regulations of the QMS.
10. Able to report out inspection findings to senior management upon request.
11. Working closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve complex problems.

Skills and experience required

1. Read and interpret engineering drawings.
2. Understand GD&T.
3. FAIR creation/completion to AS9102.
4. Indentured Apprenticeship (Preferable) or equivalent.
5. Familiar with the inspection of complex aerospace parts (Preferred). Familiar with the use/programming of relevant equipment, CMM’s, Faro Arms etc (Preferred).
6. Team player – able to work collaboratively.
7. Ability to thrive within a fast-paced manufacturing business environment.
8. Additional training in specific inspection equipment available for the right candidate.
