Credit and Operations Manager – Hereford

Great opportunity to join a successful marine finance specialist. They are looking for a credit and operations manager to join their team, the role is remote and offers a basic salary of £40/45k DOE. Ideal candidate will have a background in marine, asset, or commercial finance underwriting.

Responsibilities:

• As a Credit and Operations Manager, oversee the processing of credit applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive financial reviews to assess creditworthiness and risk.
• Underwrite credit applications in a timely manner.
• Oversee and manage the deal pipeline to ensure that credit deals are tracked and progressed effectively through to closure.
• Serve as the primary contact for brokers and vendors, facilitating smooth interactions and resolving any issues related to credit applications and transactions.
• Implement and manage risk strategies to mitigate potential financial risks associated with credit operations.
• Ensure adherence to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations and manage all reporting and compliance activities.
• Analyse market trends to develop and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), supporting strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
• Oversee the management of arrears and collections, implementing effective strategies to improve recovery rates and handle overdue accounts.
• Lead the recruitment process for the credit and operations team, including interviewing and hiring to build a strong, effective team.
• Contribute to the formulation and execution of business strategies, offering insights and recommendations to enhance overall business performance.

Knowledge And Experience:

• Possess at least 3 years of underwriting experience.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively read and assess credit information.
• Have a strong understanding of lending policies and compliance requirements.
• Have previous experience in collections, which is essential for the Credit and Operations Manager role.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Exhibit great attention to detail in all aspects.
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively, a key skill for a Credit and Operations Manager.
