As Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations, business development efforts and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. This multifaceted role requires an all-rounder who is comfortable navigating complex legal issues in a rapidly evolving industry.
Key responsibilities:
Commercial contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor agreement, service agreements, licensing agreements, event sponsorship agreements, website terms of use, SAFEs/SAFTs etc.
Provide advice on employment law matters, including employee contracts, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Assist in resolving disputes related to contracts, partnerships, or employment, using alternative dispute resolution methods where appropriate.
Collaborate with the software and product development teams to identify legal risks and provide proactive solutions on regulatory compliance matters and the protection of IP.
Manage corporate governance matters, including company filings, board meetings and other administrative tasks.
Stay updated on relevant legislation and case law, providing timely and accurate legal advice and conduct research on various topics including but not limited to issues in the Web3 space.
Liaise with external legal counsel as needed, particularly on complex matters.
Coordinate cross-functional legal input across various business functions by working closely with other members in the legal and compliance team.
1-2 years of post-qualification experience, with exposure to working in the blockchain / tech sector;
Fully qualified lawyer in the UK or Europe with experience working in a top law firm or in-house legal department;
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal stakeholders;
Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, with strong time management and organizational skills;
Strong understanding of the legal aspects of decentralized technologies, smart contracts, and blockchain;
Ability to present information in a clear, concise and logical manner and to achieve effective communication across international boundaries, mindful of different cultural norms;
Creative, problem solving mindset. Gets things done;
Native English speaker.
