Role Overview

We are currently looking for a “Head of Informatics” to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Head of Informatics, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across the company, maintaining its competitive position in microbiome bioinformatics, and developing the informatics infrastructure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Head of Informatics will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Lead the Informatics team and provide strategic direction from a scientific standpoint.
2. Lead the development and implementation of bioinformatic capabilities.
3. Develop and manage the informatics infrastructure and ensure GDPR and GLCP compliance.
4. Represent the company externally and lead the analysis of key omic datasets, including clinical trials.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Head of Informatics, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in bioinformatics, genomics, microbiology, or a related field.
2. Extensive industry experience in bioinformatics and strong knowledge of coding.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with cloud computing technologies and infrastructure particularly AWS.
