Job description

Feeding Liverpool – Liverpool, City and Borough of Liverpool

Director – Liverpool – Circa £42,000 + Benefits

Feeding Liverpool is the city of Liverpool’s Food Alliance; connecting and equipping people and organisations to work towards good food for all. Much has been achieved already, but there is still a long way to go. Liverpool has high levels of food insecurity, stark health inequalities and a community food movement that is vulnerable to food inflation and supply issues.

We are now looking to appoint to the post of Director. This will be a high-profile appointment that will play a pivotal role in influencing and engaging with both local and national stakeholders whilst raising the awareness of the movement on local and national platforms. It is an exciting time to join.

The organisation is in excellent health, having secured stable funding and built a creative and dynamic staff team, all supported by a strong Trustee Board and a committed group of partners and member organisations. Daily you will work with the inspirational people who work together to build a city based on good food for everyone.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the delivery and continued evolution of the Liverpool Good Food Plan.
  2. Stimulate and encourage the emergence of projects and programmes.
  3. Oversee the management of contracts and partner relationships.
  4. Synthesize research, data, lived experience and policy.
  5. Promote the values and principles of Good Food Plan working.
  6. Monitor sustainability of the organisation.
  7. Lead the fundraising strategy.
  8. Lead the safeguarding policy and processes.
  9. Oversee the Feeding Liverpool and Good Food Plan communications and social media policies and processes.
  10. Work alongside an external fundraiser.
  11. Manage the finances and ensure reporting requirements are met.

We are looking for someone who is a natural leader with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with people from all communities whilst being able to positively influence the city’s strategic leaders. While you may not come directly from a food insecurity background, it is essential you have a thorough understanding of the context in which Feeding Liverpool is working, and a passion and drive to make a positive impact.
