Data Scientist at Haleon – London Bankside, United Kingdom

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Global AI & Data Science team. AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning are critical parts of our strategy. We are investing to build best-in-class data science capabilities so our AI solutions deliver impact and meet our Responsible AI requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to all aspects of the Data Science Project Lifecycle, from scoping to research, development, and scalable operation. Manage priorities across Haleon’s portfolio of Commercial AI projects, focusing on Net Revenue Management.
• Collaborate with Senior Data Scientists and product teams to develop data science products solving business problems.
• Implement Responsible AI practices at scale, ensuring model explainability, reliability, security, documentation, and bias mitigation in line with Haleon’s policies.
• Research cutting-edge techniques and tools to keep Haleon’s data science solutions competitive.
• Mentor and coach colleagues, including apprentices and early talent, to develop technical excellence.

Qualifications and skills

• 4-5 years of experience as a data scientist with proven ability to develop algorithms for complex business problems.
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple project priorities.
• Experience in data integration and analysis from multiple sources.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning foundations.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Knowledge in areas like Time Series, Reinforcement Learning, NLP, etc.
• Experience with SQL and Spark for large data set mining.

Preferred

• Curiosity, problem-solving skills, and empathy.
• Knowledge of data science frameworks (Scipy, Scikit-Learn, Keras, PyTorch, etc.).
• Experience with Git, Databricks, and Azure stack.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies.
• Experience building large-scale machine learning systems.
• Master’s Degree in relevant fields.
