Position Overview: Pulse Mental Health is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team. The Consultant will play a vital role in providing expert psychiatric care to older adults, contributing to the enhancement of mental health services, and promoting holistic well-being for our aging population.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations of older adult patients.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and clinical expertise.
Provide specialized psychiatric treatment, including medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions, tailored to the unique needs of older adults.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geriatricians, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure the delivery of integrated services.
Lead and participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and optimize outcomes.
Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and innovations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of psychiatric care for older adults.
Qualifications:
Medical degree from a recognized institution.
Completion of specialist training in Psychiatry and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
Extensive experience and expertise in providing psychiatric care to older adults, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients and colleagues.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field of Old Age Psychiatry.
