Time of day: Full Working Week, Weekday Mornings, Weekday Afternoons, Casual or Intermittent

Practical Considerations: The applicant must consider working outdoors. This site is rural and you should have access to transport.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

About the Role: Support a purpose-driven charity dedicated to preserving Britain’s prehistoric heritage. As a Maintenance Volunteer, you'll help care for the Iron Age village, ensuring it's safe, functional, and welcoming for schools and community groups.

About Celtic Harmony: We are an award-winning charity delivering immersive Prehistory and sustainability education since 1998. Based in a reconstructed ancient settlement in Hertfordshire woodland, we inspire future generations through a connection to nature and heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain footpaths, steps, and woodland trails
  • Repair shelters, fences, and learning spaces
  • Restore educational props and activity stations
  • Assist with habitat management and vegetation clearance
  • Keep the site clean and visitor-ready
  • Contribute to site improvement projects as needed
  • Support other tasks based on site needs
