Job Description
The Job Mission

Join our dynamic civil engineering team, working on cutting‑edge nuclear projects to deliver innovative, low‑carbon energy solutions. Reporting to the Civil Team Lead, you’ll take responsibility for design activities, managing input data, and resolving complex civil‑related challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Receiving, analysing, and verifying input data consistency.
  • Producing key deliverables, including assumption notes, calculation notes, and technical specifications.
  • Designing fastenings in concrete and reinforced/pre‑stressed concrete structures.
  • Coordinating work with CAD designers and the Design Office Manager.
  • Conducting technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
  • Managing the Design Risk Register to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Supporting the management of design changes and load management.
  • Mentoring and advising junior team members to develop their expertise.
Essential Skills
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • IEng/CEng MICE certified or working towards it.
  • Strong background in civil and structural engineering, particularly in reinforced concrete design.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes and fastening design in concrete.
  • Proficiency in design software (Autocad 3D, Tekla 3D, E3D, Navisworks, Revit, Mathcad, Microsoft Word/Excel).
  • Ability to check and review work, mentor team members, and manage workloads.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in nuclear sector projects and plant layout engineering.
  • Familiarity with pre‑stressed concrete design.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of design and layout constraints.
  • Software: Verifplantine.
