# Children’s Play and Health Care Worker-Tracheostomy Competent(UK Visa Sponsorship)### Job Description## Role OverviewLagan’s Foundation is seeking a compassionate, skilled and creative Children’s Play and Health Care Worker to support children with a range of complex health and developmental needs. This is a role where care meets play—where your creativity, clinical ability and emotional intuition create safe, joyful and meaningful experiences for children in their homes, communities and during school transport.### What You Will Do**As part of our specialist care team, you will:*** Play-Based Support* Use play, imagination and child-led activities to promote development, emotional wellbeing and confidence.* Create meaningful moments—supporting children to explore, communicate and feel secure.**Healthcare Delivery**Provide high-quality care tailored to each child’s needs, including:* Tracheostomy care* Gastrostomy/PEG feeding* Epilepsy management* Oxygen therapy* Personal care where required* Follow safe clinical practice in line**Family & Team Collaboration*** Build strong, respectful relationships with families.* Record care notes accurately and communicate effectively with colleagues.* Support and guide Band 1 carers where appropriate.* Professional Development* Attend supervision, clinical refreshers and core training.* Contribute to a positive team environment focused on child-centred care and emotional safety.### About Lagan’s FoundationLagan’s Foundation is a specialist children’s charity supporting families across Greater Manchester. Staff wellbeing matters deeply to us, and you will receive ongoing training, emotional support, health benefits and opportunities to grow your career.* Pay, Hours and Working Pattern* Band 1 Rates: £12.82 (day) / £13.07 (night)* Hours: Approximately 20 hours initially, with scope to increase**Shifts:*** Monday–Saturday: 10:00am–6:00pm* Waking nights: 10-hour shifts* A full UK driving licence and access to your own insured vehicle for work are essential.#### Eligibility Requirements**To apply, you must:*** Be a UK national, have Settled/Pre-Settled Status, or hold ILR/ILE.* Be aged 16+ and not in full-time education.* Have at least 12 months paediatric experience and be competent in tracheostomy care (or willing to complete training).* Hold a full UK driving licence and vehicle with business insurance.* Obtain/hold an Enhanced DBS (Children & Adults Workforce).#### Person Specification**Essential*** Minimum 12 months experience supporting children or young people with health or developmental needs.* Competence in tracheostomy care or willingness to train and be signed off.* Experience with complex paediatric needs.* Strong communication, record-keeping and teamwork skills.* Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.* Ability to work independently in the home and community.* Willingness to work towards**Desirable*** Level 3 Health & Social Care, Early Years, Childcare or Playwork.* Additional paediatric clinical skills (e.g., suctioning, nebulisers).* Experience supporting children with tracheostomies in community settings.* Understanding of child development, sensory needs or behaviour support.* Previous mentoring experience.* Knowledge of child-centred, play-based approaches.Working at Lagan’s Foundation means being part of a charity that cares deeply—about its children, its families and its team.
