What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

As a Biomedical Scientist in haematology and blood transfusion, you will be expected to have excellent experience in using analysers for full blood counts (FBC) and for coagulation. You will be experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting the analysers alongside your usual duties in loading and operation. The role will also require you to ensure that the correct blood type is received by the recipient.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with Specialist Portfolio or equivalent and have a minimum of 12 months experience working in a clinical laboratory
  • Blood transfusion experience – Ortho Swift analysers, manual cross match, grouping, Kleihauer
  • Audit experience ability to perform audits
  • Morphology experience, Sysmex track experience
  • ACL TOPS coag analyser 350/550 experience
  • LIMS experience – Winpath
