Job description

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse are currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Histology to work in Yorkshire. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service.

Position: Biomedical Scientist
Banding: 6-7
Location: Yorkshire
Hours: Full-time (8am-8pm)
Duration: 3 months/ Ongoing

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

As a Biomedical Scientist in Histology, you will be expected to be proficient in microtomy, able to cut over 30 blocks an hour to a high standard; alongside having experience in embedding and staining. On a day-to-day basis, you will be supporting the senior biomedical scientists in the delivery of the service and providing guidance to junior members of staff.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

  • HCPC registered
  • Microtomy experience
  • UK NHS or private sector Histology laboratory experience
  • Experience in coagulation, blood film morphology, blood grouping and antibody testing
  • Previous experience using Sysmex, Beckman Coulter DxHand/or BioRad IH-1000
