The ProjectCoordination Unit (PCU) is responsible for developing and implementinghigh-level project management methodologies, standards, and tools, includingexpectations based on the size of initiatives/projects. The Unit monitorsproject management performance and provides advice and recommendations tocontinuously improve and build project management capacities across staff andproject partners. The advice, guidance, and recommendations provided by the PCUcover all project phases from planning, start-up, implementation, monitoringand reporting, evaluation, and learning, to closeout. The PCU contributes toother initiatives, including project identification and development, withexpertise in project management and project-level MELIA.
II. Objective
In collaborationwith PCU Program Managers and the Global Head of Project Coordination Unit, theconsultancy undertakes a range of program planning, implementation, reportingand administrative activities to support the development, delivery of programs,in line with established PCU, CIP and ONE CGIAR plans and objectives. The Consultantwill report to the Global Head, Project Coordination Unit.
· 2024 Replan Plan ofResults and Budget (PORBs) Quality assessed and published on the CGIARWebsite.
· Logistical support inPCU lead meetings include MELIA Coordination Meeting and PCU retreat.
· Monday.com platformsupdated in line with PCU 2024 Objectives and Key Results.
· Timely update of PCUshare point and files.
· PCU Mailbox is wellmaintained, and all queries responded to in a timely manner.
· Well-drafted ProjectManagement documents and presentations produced and disseminated appropriately.
I. Selection Criteria
· Master’sdegree in international development, project management, business or otherrelated areas.
· Specializedexperience and skills in MELIA, project planning and reporting, and/or managingprojects at regional and global levels for research and development projectsand programs.
· At least seven (7) years post-qualificationexperience in MELIA, Project Planning, Reporting and/or managing of researchfor development projects.
· Substantial people management and team building experience.
· Provenexperience in providing advice to leadership roles, and external stakeholdersof research projects.
· Ability to effectively communicate a commonvision to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
· Excellentinterpersonal and relationship-building skills and ability to workcollaboratively with people at all levels in a decentralized, respectful,multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary organization.
· Advanced written andoral communication skills in English.
II. Time frame
· Consultancycontract will be for a maximum of 150 days.
