Regional Director for Latin America and Country Representative for Peru (G-24-33)

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Regional Director for Latin America and Country Representative for Peru.

Position Overview: This dual-role position involves acting as the Country Representative for Peru and the Regional Director for Latin America. The primary goal is to strengthen CIP’s relationship with the Peruvian government and local stakeholders, while expanding CIP’s science and innovation initiatives in the region.

As Country Representative, the incumbent will oversee CIP’s implementation plans in Peru, aligned with CIP2030 strategic goals and the Peru Headquarter Agreement. As Regional Director, the role entails managing relationships with governments, partners, and funders across Latin America, leading and supporting Country Managers, and ensuring organizational growth through sound programming and equitable partnerships. The position reports to the Director General and is based in Lima, Peru.

Requirements
  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master) in Science or Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive international experience in research and/or development organizations.
  • Significant leadership experience in a similar role within a development or international organization.
  • Strong experience in institutional representation with government, national stakeholders, and the international community in Peru.
  • Proven track record of establishing and managing strategic partnerships with funders, governments, international organizations, and the research community at the regional level in Latin America.
  • Knowledge and experience in management practices to develop effective country and regional implementation plans and mechanisms.
  • Experience in budget management and proficiency with IT tools (Microsoft Office and ERP software).
