Description du poste

CIP is implementing projects in Tanzania. While we are hosted by IITA, this hosting arrangement is not located in the zone of implementation, which is Mwanza. As a result, most of the finance and administrative roles are performed at the regional office in Nairobi to ensure adequate operational support.

Based on this, and due to the high workload, CIP is seeking a Finance Consultant to support the team with finance and administrative deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure all financial transactions align with the Center’s policies and maintain detailed, accurate records.
  2. Travel Advance Management: Review and process travel advance requests promptly, ensuring policy compliance.
  3. Travel Liquidation Review: Assess staff travel liquidations for compliance and proper expense posting.
  4. Documentation Completeness: Verify all transactions are supported by receipts, invoices, delivery notes, and contracts.
  5. Payment Request Processing: Review, approve, and process payment requests within the agreed turnaround time.
  6. Procurement Support: Collaborate with logistics and hosting center to assist in procurement processes for goods and services.
  7. Filing System Maintenance: Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents.
  8. Month-End Closure: Ensure accurate and timely month-end financial closure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Excellent English writing skills and ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • The consultancy contract will be for 6 months.
