Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to work in the System Integration team and focus on validating our existing and upcoming embedded positioning platforms before they are released to the product teams. As the Platform Test Lead, your primary responsibility is to ensure the quality and reliability of our platforms through systematic testing and strategic planning.

In this role you will collaborate closely with system architects to refine and update platform system-level requirements, translate requirements into clear, testable items and develop an effective test strategy. This involves identifying critical areas for testing and establishing priorities to optimize resource utilization. Your responsibilities will also include test management to manage the development of detailed test cases, overseeing testing activities, monitoring test progress, and providing timely and detailed reports on test results to internal stakeholders.

As a significant aspect of this role, you will collaborate closely with development and product teams to define comprehensive test plans prior to each platform release. Additionally, you will take the lead in the System Integration team's initiatives to implement continuous regression testing of our code baseline, ensuring alignment with our internal test framework.

You should have an in-depth understanding of the embedded-software and hardware testing process and test methodologies and be able to provide insights and recommendations to management regarding future test infrastructure needs. By fulfilling these responsibilities with diligence and expertise, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of our platform, ultimately contributing to the success of our organization.

You will be working in our growing international multi-site team in charge of positioning platform verification and providing evidence of a stable and working embedded platform on which to develop our range of positioning products. You will have support from your team members to deal with a variety of daily testing and test development activities, and the possibility to optimize and prioritize your work together with your team.

This position is open in either of our Finland offices (Espoo or Tampere).

Your Responsibilities

• Define and implement platform verification strategy
• Work with platform system-level requirements and convert them to verifiable items
• Design test packages to convert system-level requirements into test assets
• Represent test expertise in platform planning teams
• Prepare test reports and test metrics
• Schedule, execute, and monitor automated test activities for platform releases
• Manage defects and work with developers to get them resolved
• Lead the team effort towards establishing continuous testing for regression

Your Skills and Experience

• MSc or BSc in Software or Hardware development
• Experience in Test Project Management and good general Project Management skills
• Experience in Test automation
• Knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
  • GNSS technology and related technologies
  • Experience in Embedded SW development
  • Radio protocols and signal processing
  • Agile SW development methods and tools
• Ability to work and cooperate cross-functionally with other teams.
• Willingness for occasional work-related travel.

Bonus points:

• Programming skills with Perl, Python, Robot Framework
• Data analysis and tools
• Previous experience working with electronic devices in lab environment
