About the Team:

Smartly proudly houses Rocket, the team responsible for building out our Creative Template Editor, as well as the Media Library. Our customers rely on our creative production tooling to generate and manage tens of millions of advertising creatives, and your future team will be placed in the center of all of this effort.

We are agnostic about technology and always aim to choose the best tools for the job. On the backend, our favored stack is Node.js in combination with TypeScript usually coupled with PostgreSQL and/or RabbitMQ. On the front-end side of things, React and Redux with TypeScript. Our service runs on Node.js orchestrated by Kubernetes. We also integrate with some BI tools (Snowflake, Redash, Grafana) to analyze the performance and usage of our services. We use Webpack and GitHub Actions for our build and deployment pipeline.

We will focus heavily on bringing innovations to the Creative Group while reacting to customer demand and feedback. Our templating solutions are in heavy use: during peak times, we've rendered 16 billion (16 000 000 000) images on hundreds of servers monthly.

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, You Will:

• Have end-to-end ownership of vertical slices of our platform
• Document our services and communicate our offerings to other teams within Smartly
• Define, design, and own API contracts made for internal and external stakeholders
• Focus on well-designed and well-executed software, quality matters
• Be a core contributor to our Creative Engineering Group's ambitions and product offering
• Work with our stakeholders - be them UX, product, infrastructure, or our support function - to ensure we meet customers where they are
• Apply and enhance your soft skills by working closely with our customers and your peers

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in building robust, complex, and distributed web applications
• Experience in backend development using modern technologies. We use NodeJS and Typescript, but we are open to hearing more about technologies used by you
• Experience in building and maintaining complex client applications using React and Redux
• Ambition and eagerness to excel and commitment to continuous growth.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to effectively work with different stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and project success.
• Motivation for solving customers' problems and delivering value to customers at a fast pace
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from our Helsinki office 3 days a week (more if you like).
