About this opportunity

Nordea is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to lead the development of new Generative AI model driven solutions to combat financial crime globally. The role will report directly to the Head of Data Science in the unit of Financial Crime Intelligence, Investigations & Analytics (FCIIA). This position is available in Stockholm and Helsinki.

What you will be doing

You will be leading a team of data scientists focused on Generative AI, specifically using previously trained Large Language Models (LLM’s), to process large corpuses of text and other unstructured data.

Your responsibilities:

• Collaborate with financial crime experts to uncover illicit behaviours using data and AI.
• Guide and mentor the team using prior experiences developing LLM-based solutions.
• Work in close partnership with business stakeholders.
• Ensure all solutions in your domain are developed in an efficient and responsible way.

Your experience and background

• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, maintaining a balance between the value of the end product, stability of the solution developed, and agility, speed & cost by which it is developed.
• Excellent business English and the ability to explain complex technical, modelling and financial concepts and results to a wide variety of audiences – in both written and verbal settings.
• Extensive experience with applied data science and prototyping, including working with datasets, analysing them with SQL, Python, R, or other languages for prototyping data-driven solutions that are efficient from day 1.
