Description

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide day-to-day local/remote desktop support, receive inbound calls, answer questions, troubleshoot, and document steps performed to resolve challenges with hardware, software, and application issues in a ticketing system. The candidate will also need to facilitate customer resolution for calls and engage their supervisors and managers to ensure operational consistency across all shifts within the IT Support Center. The Desktop Support Engineer provides Break Fix, fault diagnosis, and resolution.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide first/second level contact and problem resolution for customer issues.
  2. Collaborate with third-party vendors to address complex AV problems when required.
  3. Maintain effective communication with customers regarding issue status and resolutions.
  4. Maintain ticket updates for all reported incidents.
  5. Install, upgrade, and provide support for various operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office 2010, along with applications like Cisco Jabber.
  6. Basic knowledge of the Mac operating system to assist Apple PC users.
  7. Handle printer and computer hardware installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  8. Perform routine maintenance on computers, laptops, and printers.
  9. Perform remedial repairs on desktops, laptops, printers, and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
  10. Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network connectivity and workstation hardware/software issues.
  11. Possess broad IT experience with a basic understanding of Networks, Servers, Audio/Visual, Smart Devices, and Telecoms.
  12. Be adaptable and work effectively in a project-based environment.
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must hold a valid work permit.
  • Proficiency in the local language (Minimum B1 or B2 level) and English is essential.
  • Good knowledge of computers and IT.
  • A few years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Immediate availability to join the team.
