IT Service Desk Support Specialist

We are now looking for a full-time IT Service Desk Support Specialist to work at our Kuopio office.

Your job involves a variety of tasks related to technical customer support and server management, including setting up and maintaining customer data, invoicing, order processing, customer support, and solving technical issues via phone, email, and chat. You will also work with Linux, Plesk, and WordPress interfaces.

You will work as part of a team in our Kuopio office, mainly during office hours, but may also participate in on-call tasks outside office hours, as agreed separately. Our work environment uses new iMac 5K and MacBook devices, and our servers are entirely cloud-based.

Later, your role may shift towards developing PHP/MySQL applications, designing and maintaining WordPress sites, producing social media content, managing SEO and marketing, or taking on more team leadership responsibilities—depending on your skills, motivation, and willingness to develop professionally.

What do we expect from you?

  • At minimum, a basic understanding of Linux servers and their maintenance, along with familiarity with internet network infrastructure. You also want to constantly learn new things and can absorb information quickly.
  • You speak and write excellent Finnish and at least good English. You are precise, an uncompromising optimist, customer-oriented, service-minded, persistent, issue-solving, agile, and not afraid of work that can sometimes become hectic. You are motivated to learn new skills, want to develop yourself continuously, and get along well with different people.
  • You enjoy working in an office and value regular office hours, a peaceful working environment, locally agreed flexible scheduling, and a regular monthly salary. After a probation period, you may commit to permanent employment in Kuopio. You also need a high tolerance for quirky humor.

What would make you extra special for us? (Even one of these points is a big plus, but not a necessity)

  • Experience in customer service: Previous work in customer service or Help Desk roles, solving customer problems in a solution-oriented and patient manner. Comfort with phone and detailed email communication, and verbal communication skills are strengths.
  • Linux expertise: Skilled with Linux server maintenance, package management, migration, and troubleshooting. An analytic problem-solving mindset is a plus.

WordPress knowledge: Experience with installing, updating, maintaining, and migrating WordPress websites.

  • PHP/MySQL knowledge: Experience with PHP language and MySQL/MariaDB databases.
  • Other special skills: Industry-specific expertise (e.g., marketing content, social media marketing, SEO, documentation, internationalization, or multilingual proficiency) or a strong motivation to learn these skills.
