An established industry player is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and inspire multiple teams within their dynamic and innovative environment. As part of the Emerging Propositions Customer Experience Department, you will be involved in exciting projects that are primarily focused on our customers' experience in the Beauty, Designer and Recommerce propositions.
As the Head of Engineering, you will be a leader of leads managing multiple engineering teams. You will be expected to be a technical expert, compassionate leader, customer savvy partner, and delivery oriented driver. This position is based in Zalando's Helsinki office.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
You are an empathetic and egoless but passionate leader who excels at developing, coaching, and mentoring engineering leaders and engineers.
You have 7+ years of professional experience as a people lead in an international, cross-functional environment, as well as a proven track record building and scaling engineering teams within a mid or large scale organisation (over 30+ engineers) while co-operating effectively over geographical sites.
You have an extraordinary knowledge of many integral end-to-end e-commerce systems.
You possess an understanding of software delivery KPIs (release velocity, lead time, etc.) and how to influence them to create a high performing technology organisation with high predictability.
You have the ability to share and nurture technical ideas and direction across the organisation and a proven ability to influence decision making at all levels and in a variety of contexts.
You have deep experience working with different functions, experts, and levels of leadership.
